Certainly following the trend of Evil Friends where they have departed from their old sound. Not a huge surprise as now they are mid-tier festival billing and playing larger venues, and just like many other bands they are probably writing what they feel does best in those situations. It's certainly a radio-friendly recordi appreciate a lot of the lyrical themes/the overall vibe of this album. I think its interesting how they scrapped gloomin+doomin and out came this record.they pre-released a ton of these songs and i was a fan of all of them.

Some of the ones i hadn't heard yet im still trying to assess. But overall i see what they were going for here and think its a pretty good effort.

Im excited to see how it fares after a few more spins.its consistently pretty good from start to finish. Not sure it has the same highs as some of my fav stuff of theirs but i think that is something that time will help reveal.In The Mountain. Will always be #1 to me though. Just amazing. This is undoubtedly a pop record so I understand why a lot of people were underwhelmed at first, but I like poppy music a lot so it isn't a problem for me.Easy Tiger is one of my favorites, the abrupt changes in Tempo, rhythm and style remind me of older Ptm a lot.Live in the Moment will be a summer hit and it deserves it.

It's begging to be played in a car with windows down and singing along (just like Rich Friends and a lot of their older stuff 'people say')Rich friends shows some of that snark we saw a lot of on Evil Friends. I feel like Keep On is their version of 'Win Win Win' and I love it. Pumps me up.So young definitely feels like it fits with the Festival vibe of the album, like the part where you're kind of tired and coming down, so everyone's laying in their tents. Like an existential crisis of a song.Mr lonely is great and psychedelic, has a real 90s vibe which is compounded by Fatlip.

The chorus kind of sounds like Citizen Cope, but maybe is just me. The random autotune is a cool touch.I've loved noise pollution since I've heard it live so it's a great way to close out this chaotic and funky album. Zoe's(?) voice during the chorus is beautiful and I love the lyrics. A real 'fuck you' to the sometimes overwhelming feeling of modernity.This is just my first thoughts typed in my phone so if it doesn't make sense I'm sorry. I love this album and it probably will be in my top tier of Ptm albums, even with the more mainstream sound. The Lords have delivered and I'm ready to worship. I know PtM change their sound every album, but I think they've totally abandoned the psychedelic indie aesthetic that still permeated their other albums.

This is very much a pop record with splashes of hip hop and RnB influences.That's being said it's a fun listen. Feel it still is hella fun to groove to and so young is incredibly catchy.

Other than that it feels a bit. It's lost that je ne sais quoi that In the mountain had, and did still have with Evil Friends.It's not an album I'll revisit in its entirety, but feel it still and so young are cracking singles that I will probably play every now and then.I loved their previous work.
